This section of Oswegatchie River - Middle Branch is 22 miles long and is a class II-V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Ogdensburg-Massena, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in New York are harder than the national norm, so if you're not from around here don't forget that the rivers     in this state are less manageable. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
