The scenic beauty of Oswego County and the water flowing gracefully down Oswego River are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This is a very short section so better bring some good walking shoes. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. The put-in location is a reasonable drive     from Auburn, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other spots. No shortage of good hotels, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This is the only paddling section along Oswego River. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Briefly about the general area: High temperatures at Oswego River all through the warm days of summer are in the 70's. Through the moonlight hours it's typically in the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 30's while Oswego River nighttime low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 10's.
