If you're coming from New York-Newark-Edison it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. A good workout and a chance to spend some
time outdoors will make you glad you came. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you won't find many other paddling spots. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. No shortage of good hotels, but you'd better reserve in advance because these
hotels fill up quick. The scenic beauty of Orange/ Rockland County and the water flowing gracefully down Ramapo River make the trip here worthwhile. Ramapo River doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Route 210 to Ramapo stretch is the only one.

This river is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Kakiat Trail, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Tuxedo Ridge if you're here. Spend the day on the beach at New Sebago Beach if you're here at Ramapo River; Parker Cabin Hollow is in the vicinity, and
is a magnificent site. One of the best things about Ramapo River is its proximity to Old Sebago Beach, and don't leave Ramapo River without first going for a hike along the Pine Meadow Trail. Ramapo River sees pretty high levels of rain; May is the month that gets the most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest.
