The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. This stretch is mid length, it's perfect for a one day trip. The scenic     beauty of New York and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. The Adirondack Mountains scenery is wonderful. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good rivers for that around here.
