The Piercefield to Parmenter Site section of Raquette River is 17.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-V section. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. The put-in location is a short drive from Malone, as you can see on the road map further down. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling places. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so why not pack your sleeping bag too.
