The natural beauty of New York and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. The starting point is not too far from Glens Falls, as you can see on the road map further down. There are campgrounds
quite near the river where you can camp. The beautiful Adirondack Mountains scenery is an added bonus. The Last 2 miles into Stoney Creek section of Roaring Branch is 2 miles long and it is classified as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. This is a short paddling stretch
so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The Last 2 miles into Stoney Creek stretch is the only paddling stretch along Roaring Branch. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come.
