If you're coming from Glens Falls it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. There are no other stretches to paddle along Roaring Branch than the Last 2 miles into

This is a somewhat short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. The river winds through the Adirondack Mountains and you get great scenery. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in New York is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. The campgrounds here at Roaring Branch are pretty good.
