Last 2 miles into Stoney Creek section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS III-IV 2 miles
The Last 2 miles into Stoney Creek stretch of Roaring Branch is 2 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III-IV section of whitewater. The nature scenery of New York and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but
do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Glens Falls, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This section is quite
short so better bring some good walking shoes. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. There are no other sections to paddle along Roaring Branch than the Last 2 miles into Stoney Creek section. The beautiful Adirondack Mountains scenery is an added bonus.
