If you're coming from Kingston it's not a long drive at all to the starting location. This section of Rochester Creek in New York is 5.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-III section of whitewater. The beautiful scenery of New York and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.
This is the only paddling stretch along Rochester Creek. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots. Getting a good workout and spending
