This is the only paddling section along Rock River. There's camping available near Rock River. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that     around here. The Adirondack Mountains scenery is wonderful. This stretch is mid length, it's perfect for a one day trip. This section of Rock River in Hamilton County is 5 miles long and has been rated as a class II-V section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so you'd better keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. Briefly about the general area: High temperatures at Rock River during the long summer days are in the 70's with overnight lows in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's with temperatures at Rock River dipping down into the 0's all through winter nights. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Rock River; Northville Lake Placid Trail is a nice local trail.
