If you're coming from Kingston it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. This stretch of Rondout Creek in Ulster County is 7.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-IV section. The scenic beauty of Ulster County and the water flowing gracefully down Rondout Creek make the trip here worthwhile. No shortage of good hotels, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more
challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. The High Falls Dam to Wallkill River
