The starting location is a short drive from Kingston, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in New York is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's good length for a morning trip. There are some good hotels     near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
