This section of Sacandaga River in New York is 7.5 miles long and it is classified as a class III-V+ section by American Whitewater. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Gloversville, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The beautiful scenery of New York and the water flowing gracefully down Sacandaga River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This river system is full of great paddling stretches, the Christine Falls to East Branch stretch is just one of them. Whitewater paddling here in
the Adirondack Mountains is a great experience. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. On this section you do get some distance, it's
perfect for a one day trip. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so you'd better keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people.
