Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in New York are harder than the national norm, so better not forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The wonderful Hamilton County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Sacandaga River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so pack your sleeping bag. The campgrounds here at Sacandaga River are pretty good. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Gloversville, as you can see on the road
map further down. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the East Branch to Hope section is just one of them. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places. Whitewater paddling here in the Adirondack Mountains

There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
