CLASS II-III     3.5 miles
The starting point is not too far from Glens Falls, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The natural beauty of Saratoga County and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good places for that around here. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending
some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. The Stewarts Bridge Reservoir to Hudson River section of Sacandaga River in Saratoga County is 3.5 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The sections for whitewater
rafting and kayaking here in New York are often more challenging than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. This is a somewhat short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. The Stewarts Bridge Reservoir to Hudson River section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. When you're paddling down a Adirondack Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby
campground.
