CLASS II-III 3.5 miles
The beautiful scenery of New York and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. If you're coming from Glens Falls it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This section of Sacandaga River is 3.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-III section
of whitewater. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Stewarts Bridge Reservoir to Hudson River stretch is one of them. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. The wild scenery of the Adirondack Mountains is
great. This is a bit of a short stretch so no need to bring snacks. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in New York tend to be more challenging than the national average, so better not forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving.
