The Moose Mountain to Route 30 stretch of Sacandaga River - East Branch is 7 miles long and is a class II-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The put-in location is a short drive from Gloversville, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. This stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find     the rivers here more demanding, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The Moose Mountain to Route 30 section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. The wild scenery of the Adirondack Mountains is great. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
