The natural beauty of Hamilton County and the water flowing gracefully down Sacandaga River - West Branch make the trip here worthwhile. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. The beauty of the Adirondack Mountains is a great plus for this river. as a class IV-V+ section by American Whitewater. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This stretch is mid length, it's good length for a morning trip. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well.
