Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. There are no other stretches to paddle along Sand Creek than the Northville stretch. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in New York is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're     willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This is a bit of a short stretch so better bring some good walking shoes. The Northville stretch of Sand Creek is 3 miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The beautiful Adirondack Mountains scenery is an added bonus. Briefly about the general area: Summertime at Sand Creek comes with high temperatures in the 80's while overnight lows are ordinarily in the 50's. During the wintertime highs are usually in the 20's with temperatures at Sand Creek dipping down into the 0's all through winter nights.
