The Silver Lake Road to Redford stretch of Saranac River in Clinton County is 7 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III-V section. There are plenty of     other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. The wild scenery of the Adirondack Mountains is great. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The natural beauty of Clinton County and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Briefly about the general area: Through the summertime here at Saranac River, high temperatures commonly get into the 70's with nighttime lows in the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are typically in the 20's;   nighttime lows all through the winter for Saranac River tend to be in the 0's. Go for a hike on the Silver Lake Mountain Trail. All the water falling down from the sky makes Saranac River a wet spot; August is the wettest month with most rain; February is the month with the least moisture.
