Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. The beautiful scenery of New York and the water flowing gracefully down Saranac River beats anything. No need to look hard for hotels, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you
can camp. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Foot of Kent Falls to Lake Champlain stretch is one of them. The river winds through the Adirondack Mountains and you get great scenery. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't
matter, around here you'll find a large number of good spots. This stretch of Saranac River is 12.5 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so pack your camping stuff. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more.
