The wonderful New York scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Saw Kill River have people coming here. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle,
good for a one day paddling trip. The Catskill Mountains scenery is wonderful. The put-in location is a short drive from Kingston, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Not too many
hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Meads Mountain Road bridge to Chestnut Hill Road stretch is one of them. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that.
