Cam you get some stats on the Schoharie Creek from Blenhiem Bridge to Central Bridge ? My husband, friends and I have been kayaking that section for over 3 years. My husband and his friends were doing it in canoes prior to that. You can't do the whole thing in one day. It has to be broke up in sections. But it is so beautiful down through there. It's a mix of white water and calm water. The nature you encounter through there is you can't see everyday. Ever have an eagle fly not more then 10 feet away from you, or see a nest of ravens with the young
ones screaming for lunch ? Well those are just a few of the things we have seen. Also we've only encountered 1 canoe in the 3 years and they bailed by the rock cliffs in Blenhiem. Says Robin Macdonald
Whitewater rafting and kayaking in New York is often more difficult than
elsewhere, so better not forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. The starting location is a short drive from Kingston, as you can see on the road map further down. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. There's camping available near Schoharie Creek. This stretch is mid length,
suitable for an afternoon trip. This stretch of Schoharie Creek in Greene County is 9 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-III section. The scenic beauty of New York and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The Catskill
