The starting point is not too far from Glens Falls, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The nature scenery of New York and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the North Hudson bridge to Schroon Falls section is one of them. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip. This stretch of Schroon River is 5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II section of
whitewater. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Whitewater paddling here in the Adirondack Mountains is a great experience. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before
you come because it is a very popular destination. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. The average New York whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots.

here, and there is a fine hiking trail close by called the Peaked Hill Trail. Summertime highs at Schroon River usually tend to be in the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's, and nighttime lows in the 0's for Schroon
River. Schroon River gets a typical amount of rainfall; most of the rain falls throughout August; the driest of the months is February. Whohoo, so much enjoyable stuff in one place! The Adirondack Mountains rocks!.
