The beautiful scenery of New York and the water flowing gracefully down Schroon River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in New York tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. The Adirondack Mountains scenery is wonderful. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground.     If you're coming from Glens Falls it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The Starbuckville to Riverbank section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's good length for a morning trip. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here.
