Whitewater rafting and kayaking in New York is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The Adirondack Mountains scenery is wonderful.     The starting location is a short drive from Glens Falls, as you can see on the road map further down. The nature scenery of Warren County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good places.
