The natural beauty of Warren County and the playfulness of the water beats anything. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The beautiful Adirondack Mountains scenery is an added bonus. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming     from far and near. There are some good hotels near the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This is an extremely short stretch so no need to bring snacks. Briefly about the general area: Hickory Ski Center has perfect slopes and a friendly staff. An average amount of rain falls at Schroon River; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain while January is mostly the   driest month.
