The Rt 79 to Brooktondale section of Sixmile Creek is 3 miles long and has been rated as a class V section by American Whitewater. The natural beauty of Tompkins County and the playfulness of the water beats anything. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This is the only paddling section along Sixmile Creek. You might     be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. This stretch is short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Ithaca, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page.
