New York whitewater - Sprite Creek, Fulton County Fulton county, Stewart Landing to Youker Road section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS III+(V)     4.55 miles   Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The wonderful Fulton County scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Sprite Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Stewart Landing to Youker Road section is the only one. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good spots. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The Stewart Landing to Youker Road stretch of Sprite Creek in New York is 4.55 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III+(V) section of whitewater. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. Briefly about the general area: Sprite Creek gets a normal amount of yearly rainfall; the month with most of the rain is June, and the driest of the months is February. Through the summertime, highs   ordinarily are in the 80's at Sprite Creek. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. Highs through the winter are ordinarily in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Sprite Creek.
