The Salisbury to Dolgeville stretch of Spruce Creek in New York is 6.5 miles long and is a class II-V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The Salisbury to Dolgeville section is the only paddling section along Spruce Creek. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Getting some good exercise and a chance
to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Amsterdam, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page.
You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good rivers for that around here. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip.
