The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in New York are often more challenging than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. This stretch of St. Regis River - East Branch is 6 miles long and is a class III-V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The nature scenery of New York and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. The starting point is not too far from Malone, as you can see on the road map further down.
And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. On this section you do get some distance, good for a one day paddling trip. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels
fill up quick. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more.
