  If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. The Quebec Brook to Spring Cove stretch of St. Regis River - Middle Branch is 8 miles long and it is classified as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking,
    either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. The campgrounds here at St. Regis River - Middle Branch are pretty good. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for
lots of people. The wonderful New York scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. There are so many stretches to paddle in this river system, the Quebec Brook to Spring Cove stretch is just one of many. The river winds through the Adirondack Mountains and you get great scenery. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from  
the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Malone, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that.
