This stretch of St. Regis River - Middle Branch in New York is 10.4 miles long and has been rated as a class III+(IV) section by American Whitewater. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so you'd better keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. The natural     beauty of New York and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling rivers. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
