The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Malone, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside New York you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so you'd better keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have     to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. The wonderful New York scenery and the water flowing gracefully down St. Regis River - Middle Branch make the trip here worthwhile. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the Fort Jackson to Buckton section is just one of them. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon.
