  The put-in location is a short drive from Malone, as you can see on the road map further down. The Fort Jackson to Buckton section of St. Regis River - Middle Branch in New York is 6 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III section. The scenic beauty of New York and the water flowing gracefully down St. Regis River - Middle Branch will make you feel great. There arenít any hotels right nearby but if you're willing
    to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming
back for more. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in New York is often tougher than elsewhere, so keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. On this section you do get some distance, it's perfect for a one day trip. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the Fort Jackson to Buckton section is just one of them. No matter if you're whitewater rafting
