Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in New York tend to be more challenging than the national average, so better not forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. On this section you do get some distance, suitable for an afternoon trip. There are campgrounds quite near the river     where you can camp. The nature scenery of St. Lawrence/Franklin County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.
