The put-in location is a short drive from Malone, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The High Falls to Long Pond Outlet section of St. Regis River - West Branch is 3 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II section. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This section is quite short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one     stretch. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in New York is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy.
