The natural beauty of Warren County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a     bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good spots for that around here. This stretch of Stony Creek in Warren County is 4.5 miles long and is a class III-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. This stretch is mid length, you can easily run it on an afternoon. The Adirondack Mountains scenery is wonderful. Briefly about the general area: Through the warmest time of the year highs here at   Stony Creek reach the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Stony Creek are in the 0's.
