New York whitewater - Stony Creek, Adirondack Mountains, Warren County Warren county, Roaring Branch to Hudson River section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS II-III     4 miles   The put-in is not too far from Glens Falls, as you can see on the road map further down. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're not from around here don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. This stretch of Stony Creek is 4 miles long and it is classified as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This     river system has a few good paddling sections and the Roaring Branch to Hudson River section is one of them. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Whitewater paddling here in the Adirondack Mountains is a great experience. The beautiful scenery of Warren County and the playfulness of the water beats anything. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. Briefly about the general area: Stony Creek is a good location of normal rain; throughout the month of August you get the most rain around here; the driest month is February. At Stony Creek during the summer   months highs are in the 70's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are commonly in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Stony Creek.
