This stretch of Taughannock Creek is 1 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. It's always good to stop at Taughannock Falls, and a trip to Frontenac Point is always a good idea. For   the duration of the warm days of summer at Taughannock Creek highs are usually in the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Taughannock Creek sink into the 10's.
