The put-in location is a short drive from Ithaca, as you can see on the road map further down. This is a short paddling stretch so better bring some good walking shoes. The nature scenery of Tompkins County and the water flowing gracefully down Taughannock Creek make the trip here worthwhile. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. There are     campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in New York are often tougher than in other states, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too.
