The campgrounds here at Ten Mile River are pretty good. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. The starting point is not too far from Torrington, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in New York is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. This is the     only paddling section along Ten Mile River. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.
