The starting point is not too far from Albany-Schenectady-Troy, as you can see on the road map further down. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in New York tend to be more challenging than the national average, so don't forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This is the only paddling section along Ten Mile Creek. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there
are lots of good rivers for that around here. This section of Ten Mile Creek in New York is 3.5 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The beautiful Catskill Mountains scenery is an added bonus. The natural beauty of Albany/ Greene
County and the water flowing gracefully down Ten Mile Creek will make you feel great. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. This is a pretty short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby.
