The to Hudson River at North River stretch of Thirteenth Brook in New York is 2 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class IV-V+ section. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Whitewater rafting     and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. This is the only paddling stretch along Thirteenth Brook. The beautiful Adirondack Mountains scenery is an added bonus. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This section is quite short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people.
