If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. The Upper Saint Johnsville section is the only paddling section along Timmerman Creek. The scenic beauty of Fulton / Montgomery County and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough     to come here to paddle. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This section is quite short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Briefly about the general area: Timmerman Creek gets a normal amount of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is commonly June, that's the one that rains the most; February is when it's the driest. During the long summer days here at Timmerman Creek, high temperatures regularly reach the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's.
