The other 20% would be too dangerous. In addition, the brook is going through private land much of the way. The brook is good for fishing, but forget any kind of boating. Says Woody Weerheim The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Oneonta, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The natural beauty of Delaware County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. Whitewater rafting and kayaking     in New York is often more difficult than elsewhere, so better not forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places. The Case Hill Road Bridge to Route 357 section of Treadwell Creek is 5.2 miles long and has been rated as a class I-III section by American Whitewater. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The beautiful Catskill Mountains scenery is an added bonus. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The Case Hill Road Bridge   to Route 357 section is the only paddling section along Treadwell Creek. Briefly about the general area: Treadwell Creek is a good place of common rain; the month of September is the wettest with most of the rain while February is frequently the driest month. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Treadwell Creek while overnight lows are typically in the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Treadwell Creek.
