Attention, the brook / Treadwell creek is not paddle-able 80% of the time. The other 20% would be too dangerous. In addition, the brook is going through private land much of the way. The brook is good for fishing, but forget any kind of boating. Says Woody Weerheim

down. The Case Hill Road Bridge to Route 357 section of Treadwell Creek in New York is 5.2 miles long and is a class I-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. This is the only paddling section along Treadwell Creek. There are plenty of hotels here if you want
to spend a night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. The natural beauty of New York and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. Whitewater paddling here in the Catskill Mountains is a great experience.
