The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in New York are often more challenging than in other states, so don't forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. The beautiful scenery of New York and the water flowing gracefully down Tremper Kill River beats anything. On this section you do get some distance, good for a one day paddling trip. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. There are     no other sections to paddle along Tremper Kill River than the Below Andes to gauging station section. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This stretch of Tremper Kill River in Delaware County is 6.3 miles long and it is classified as a class I-III section by American Whitewater. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. The beauty of the Catskill Mountains is a great plus for this river. Briefly about the general area: For the duration of the warm days of summer at Tremper Kill River highs are typically   in the 70's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 30's, and night lows in the 10's for Tremper Kill River. State Road Hollow is a nice location to spend some time at. Tremper Kill River gets lots of water; most of the rain falls all through May, and February is the month with the least moisture.
