If you're coming from Glens Falls it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This stretch of Trout Brook River is 4 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III-IV(V+) section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in New York is often tougher than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night,
and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The scenic beauty of New York and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. The wild scenery of the Adirondack Mountains is great. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around
here. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's good length for a morning trip. There's camping available near Trout Brook River. This is the only paddling stretch along Trout Brook River.
