The natural beauty of Chautauqua County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Jamestown-Dunkirk-Fredonia, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The South Ripley to Lake Erie section of Twentymile Creek in New York is 10.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-IV section of whitewater. The South Ripley to Lake Erie section is the only paddling section along Twentymile Creek. There are many
good hotels to choose from, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. Since you're on this site
you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are not so many other good spots for that around here. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so pack your sleeping bag.

Summertime highs at Twentymile Creek commonly tend to be in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 60's.
