The scenic beauty of Ulster County and the water flowing gracefully down Vernooy Kill River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The End of Lundy Road section of Vernooy Kill River in Ulster County is 7.3 miles long and has been rated as a class II-V section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in New York is often tougher than elsewhere, so don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. you'll find lots of paddling spots. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Kingston, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's good length for a morning trip. The nearby hotels are a
bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The End of Lundy Road stretch is the only paddling stretch along Vernooy Kill River. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more.
