This section of Wallkill River in New York is 30 miles long and it is classified as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so better not forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. Now this is a pretty long section, so make sure you pack enough food along with your camping gear. Wallkill River doesn't     have a lot of paddling stretches, the Walden to mouth stretch is the only one. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. No need to look hard for hotels, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Briefly about the general area: The high level of rain makes Wallkill River a pretty wet spot; May is when you get the most rain here, and February meanwhile is the driest month. All through the months of summer, highs commonly are in the 70's at Wallkill River while nighttime lows are generally in the 60's.
