The beautiful scenery of New York and the water flowing gracefully down Wappinger Creek make the trip here worthwhile. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in New York tend to be more challenging than the national average, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. This stretch     is mid length, suitable for an afternoon trip. The put-in is not too far from Kingston, as you can see on the road map further down. The campgrounds here at Wappinger Creek are pretty good. No shortage of good hotels, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. This is the only paddling stretch along Wappinger Creek.
