Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in New York are harder than the national norm, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The nature scenery of Greene County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. The campgrounds here at West Kill River are pretty good. The Albinos Pizzeria to Schoharie Creek stretch of West Kill River is 7.7 miles long and is a class II-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. drive at all to the starting location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Albinos Pizzeria to Schoharie Creek section is one of them. On this section you do get some distance, you can easily
run it on an afternoon. Whitewater paddling here in the Catskill Mountains is a great experience. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more.

place of common precipitation; the wettest month of the year is mostly May, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is February. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to West Kill River. When the night sets in temperatures drop down
into the 50's. For the duration of the winter the highs are usually in the 20's while West Kill River night low temperatures through the winter are in the 0's. Mink Hollow is near West Kill River and is beyond doubt a nice location to have a look at.
