The nature scenery of Greene County and the water flowing gracefully down West Kill River beats anything. The starting location is a short drive from Kingston, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This stretch of West Kill River in Greene County is 7.7 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-IV section of whitewater. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Not too many hotels
nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that the rivers
in this state are less manageable. The Catskill Mountains scenery is wonderful. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Albinos Pizzeria to Schoharie Creek section is one of them. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling places. On this section you do get some distance, good for a one day paddling trip.
