CLASS IV 1 miles
The wonderful New York scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The South of Exit 30 off I-87 section of West Mill Creek is 1 miles long and has been rated as a class IV section by American Whitewater. The average New York whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. This is an extremely short section so you'd better be prepared to
walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The wild scenery of the Adirondack Mountains is great. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. The nearby hotels are a
bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. West Mill Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the South of Exit 30 off I-87 stretch is the only one.
