The nature scenery of New York and the water flowing gracefully down Woodhull Creek are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. If you're coming from Utica-Rome it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The Chub Pond to Horton Road stretch is the only paddling stretch along Woodhull Creek. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother     nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so pack your camp stove. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The beauty of the Adirondack Mountains is a great plus for this river. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in New York are often more challenging than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. There is a good hiking trail close to Woodhull Creek called the Stone Dam Trail.
