The put-in location is a short drive from Kingston, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good spots. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The wild scenery of the Catskill Mountains is great. The Woodland Valley Campground to Esopus River stretch of Woodland Creek in New York is 5.2 miles long     and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III-IV section. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This stretch is mid length, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in New York is often tougher than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. This is the only paddling stretch along Woodland Creek. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. Briefly about the general area: A common amount of precipitation falls here at Woodland Creek; most of the rain falls during May, and February on the other hand is the driest. All year   is a pleasant time in the Catskill Mountains if you love the outdoors. Go for a hike on the Willow Trail. A tour to Woodland Valley is always fun, and going for a hike on the Phoenicia Trail is always a pleasant adventure. For the duration of the warm days of summer at Woodland Creek highs are regularly in the 70's. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's; night lows in the 0's for Woodland Creek.
