The average New York whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. The Woodland Valley Campground to Esopus River stretch of Woodland Creek in New York is 5.2 miles long and has been rated as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. On this section you do get some distance, it's perfect for a one day
trip. Woodland Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Woodland Valley Campground to Esopus River section is the only one. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. There's camping available
near Woodland Creek. When you're paddling down a Catskill Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. The nature scenery of New York and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come.

be in the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. High temperatures throughout the winter are normally in the 20's, and night lows at Woodland Creek during the winter generally sink into the 0's. Nearby Woodland Valley is a magnificent place to go if you're at Woodland Creek; if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Phoenicia Trail.
