The Big Hungry Road to Green section of Big Hungry Creek is 1.3 miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The put-in location is a short drive from Asheville, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The beautiful scenery of North Carolina and the beautiful way the water current moves down
the stream attract people from near and far. There are no other stretches to paddle along Big Hungry Creek than the Big Hungry Road to Green stretch. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here. This stretch
is very short so no need to bring snacks. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside North Carolina you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so keep in mind that rivers here are less demanding. The wild scenery of the Blue Ridge Mountains is great. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came.
